White Rose Morris Men have again invited Wath and Barnsley Longsword to join them in an evening of dance [and song] at the King’s Head on Huddersfield Station on Wednesday 24th February 2010.
The evening will begin around 8.00pm and we hope the event will be as successful and enjoyable as the previous few years.

Join us for an evening that all the family will enjoy. In addition to the country dancing the evening will feature a great house band “A Parcel of Rogues.” Wath Morris will perform the mummers play, St George and the Turkish Knight and will dance during the evening. A guest appearance of the newly formed country fusion band “Stairlift to Heaven” will also happen. Add real ale and we have a recipe for a great night.
Buy tickets on the door. £5 per person or £15 for a family ticket. Starting at 8pm.

Plans made at the A.G.M. mean that the team face a very busy Christmas period. Mumming tours in Wath (11th) and Wentworth (18th), Dodworth Festival (15th) and the Fire Festival (20th) all complement the Boxing Day Tour and a new event with the Christmas Ceilidh (30th).

Another enjoyable and successful evening entertained a large number of people on Wednesday 3rd November in the Woodman. Despite numbers being ravaged by the usual winter coughs and sneezes there were plenty of volunteers to give the night the usual wide diversion of music and styles. It is noticeable that there are as many non ‘morris’ people involved as there are ‘morris men’ and this development has a lot to do with the evening’s popularity. Thanks to all the people who took part – and to the pub for it’s hospitality not forgetting the chip butties. The next session is planned for Wednesday 2nd December. See you there ?

The final two music evenings of the year in the Woodman have been arranged for Wednesday 4th November and Wednesday 2nd December. The November evening will be very much as previous events but the December date will have an emphasis on traditional Christmas Carols. Both should begin around 8.15 pm.
