Grenoside Traipse 2010, Centenary Year

One hundred years ago Cecil Sharpe recorded details of the Grenoside Sword Dance whilst visiting Grenoside near Sheffield. The event was comemmorated by The Grenoside Sword Dancers, sword dancers from Thorpe Hesley Primary School, the Newcastle Kingsmen and Wath Morris. Wath Morris at 50th Birthday Party

Wath Morris were invited to join Martin Gibbons’ 50th birthday celebrations providing a display from the Border Tradition. After the introductory dance the team taught the birthday boy and his friends how to dance “Dilwyn”, an exciting short stick dance. A good time was had by all.
