Wath Morris took the old Roman festival of Lupercalia to Billingley on Valentines day. Some of the old traditions were toned down a little but this did not diminish an enjoyable experience. Residents hosted and ‘watered’ the team on their tour around a very interesting village before all retired to the Station Inn in Darfield for lunch and a musical session. Hopefully the inaugural event will be repeated next year.
